Privacy policy
Plain language: what SeatView collects, how it's used, and how to remove it. This page describes the product as it actually works today.
What we collect
Presenter accounts: email address, display name, and profile details you provide. Sessions: the slide decks you upload, session settings, and timing metadata. Attendees: no account is required. Attendee notes, highlights, poll answers, and reactions are stored against an anonymous device identifier generated in the browser, not against a name or email.
How attendee information is used
Attendee notes and highlights exist so each guest can revisit them and export a personal PDF recap. Presenters see aggregate engagement (for example, how many highlights a slide received), never individual attendees' private notes. We don't use attendee data for advertising, and we don't sell it to anyone.
Who can access event information
A session's content and analytics are visible to the presenter who owns it. Guests can only access a live session through its join code or QR link, and optional access codes can lock private sessions. Aggregate engagement is visible to the presenter; personal notes and highlights are visible only to the attendee who created them.
How long data is retained
Session content and analytics are kept while the presenter's account is active, so past sessions remain available in the dashboard. Attendee notes and highlights persist so guests can revisit and export them after the event. Presenters can delete a session at any time, which removes its slides, analytics, and associated attendee data.
How data deletion works
Presenters can delete sessions from the dashboard, and can request full account deletion by contacting us. Attendees can request removal of their notes and highlights by contacting us with the session details. Deletion requests are handled manually today and we confirm once complete.
How uploaded presentations are protected
Slide decks are stored in access-controlled cloud storage. Presenter libraries are private to their owner; the slides of a live session are served only to guests who joined that session. All traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS), and stored data is encrypted at rest by our cloud provider.
Infrastructure
SeatView runs on managed cloud infrastructure (database, storage, authentication, and realtime delivery) operated by established cloud providers. We don't maintain our own data centers.
Cookies and tracking
We use first-party browser storage to keep presenters signed in and to remember an attendee's anonymous device identifier. We don't use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
Children
SeatView is not directed at children under 16. If you believe a minor has provided data, contact us and we will remove it.
